Roses Fight On Multiple Wavelengths

The vivid colors this day at the International Rose Test Garden astonished me. I was finishing my Psychology studies at PSU down the street and learning about color perception in some of the courses.

Why does fuchsia glow?

Fuchsia is the fusion of red and violet and hurts our retinas because it is two colors at once.
